In such a setting, what then really constitutes a protest? In his lecture Ujjwal Utkarsh will scrutinise the possibility and the potential of the observational form of film making as a form of radical film making. <!--more-->\nThroughout his Practice based PhD \u2018The Revolution is Everyday\u2019, he has been engaging with the possibility of the observational film making form to create a film-based sensorial reflection on the act of protest. At a farmer\u2019s protest in the south Indian state Karnataka, and an anti-caste Dalit Protest in Western Indian state Gujarat, he attempted to shoot with the observational film making form-al framework and would like to use some of the footage from these two failed attempts to be able to raise the pitfalls, contradictions, and difficulties inherent in the proposed approach to better understand and highlight the challenges in the process.\n\nUjjwal Utkarsh is an independent film maker. He was a member of the film faculty at Srishti Institute of Arts, Design &amp; Technology, Bangalore, and at State Institute of Film &amp; Television, Rohtak for the past few years.
