Mariola Brillowska and Bela Brillowska are showing a selection of their surrealistic-comic films, which are independently commissioned. The world of the professor and mother Mariola, who has been experimenting with film media for over 30 years, meets that of the very young, 16-year-old student and daughter Bela, who already won awards for her debut film “Artist Talk” 4 years ago.

 

Bela Brillowska, born in Hamburg in 2004, is a filmmaker, performer and author; since 2011 performer in the “Backstage” theater group of the Hamburger Schauspielhaus; 2016-2019 radio show maker of “Bela im Flow”; 2020 winner of the Best Youth Film Award of the Obenhausen Short Film Festival.

 

Mariola Brillowska, born in 1961 and raised in Poland, is a visual, media and performance artist as well as author, director and producer, studied fine arts at the HfbK Hamburg; 2005-13 she was art professor at the HfG Offenbach / Main; Winner of the German Film Critics Award 2019.
