I am currently making a documentary about Amazon warehouse workers from Poland, Germany and the USA. I myself have been working in Amazon FC in Poland for 6 years, taking active part in workers struggles. In the film, I focus on the transnational employee organizing, the challenges and the constraints we face and how they affect us and our relatives. (more…)

It was 2014 – I was in a military hospital because of a strange illness – when I promised to myself that I would gather the energy to produce my first film. This strong motivation was the result of events in Turkey in 2013 – such as the Gezi uprising and the corruption scandal from December 17th to 24th. Both sparked my interest in creating dystopian settings to portray the collective fear of Turkish society.

Transpose is an ongoing project that explores cross-hemispherical relations with regard to different tensions: the kinship, insertion, farming and impact of salmon; the anthropocentric management and manipulation of living marine resources, and the coexistence and disappearance of indigenous knowledge, from origin to destination in the contemporary context. The video installation documents the approach to a foreign culture through the confrontation with Cuban everyday life and the Afro-Cuban religion that is firmly anchored in it. The important role of religious ceremony in human coexistence is as much a theme as the fusion of the present and ancestor worship. (more…)

Who owns the natural resources and who receives their profits? How do wage labour and exploitation shape our relations with the earth and our relations with each other? How does the acceleration of digital processes counteract the slowness of geological processes? The artist Regina de Miguel asks herself these questions based on the regions of Chocó in Colombia and Rio Tinto in Spain. (more…)

After shooting the pilot episode of Days—an adaption of the American soap opera Days of Our Lives—we are now developing the forthcoming season. Various collaborations redirect libidinally driven storylines towards some of the concerns of Berlin’s precariat: the nature of abstract, emotional and unpaid labor. We share some of our process through a trailer, a talk, and staged melodrama.  (more…)

The Semi-Show is a trash TV absurdist talk show revolving around the notion of “semi-”. A playful expression of feminism, reflecting on contemporary power-structures, affective hierarchies and naked politics: semi-sexual, semi-local, semi-interactive, semi-expertise. Half-way interrupted formats follow one another. The show moves through virtual imagery inviting the audience to follow masterclasses, absurd games and the band’s performance compressed into a one minute span. (more…)

Bela Brillowska and Mariola Brillowska
Mariola Brillowska and Bela Brillowska are showing a selection of their surrealistic-comic films, which are independently commissioned. The world of the professor and mother Mariola, who has been experimenting with film media for over 30 years, meets that of the very young, 16-year-old student and daughter Bela, who already won awards for her debut film “Artist Talk” 4 years ago.
