At the screening table we will discuss the path from the start and rediscover the causes, obstacles, motivations and consequences of being a filmmaker. We will ask fervently what we are looking for and what will satisfy us.
Emre Birişmen, born in Istanbul in 1986, lives and works in Berlin since 2019. In his artistic production mediated through film and video, he focuses on themes of survival, immigration, inequality, freedom, and justice. He emphasizes user immersion through audio-visual collaborations. He conveys an imaginary narrative that interacts with the absurdity of realpolitik. Inspired by his personal experiences, his dystopian productions critique authoritarianism and oppression. He works as a member of various collectives such as Funke Kollektive, KABA-HAT Kollektive, and FILM RISS THEATER on different political and immersive themes.
