After shooting the pilot episode of Days—an adaption of the American soap opera Days of Our Lives—we are now developing the forthcoming season. Various collaborations redirect libidinally driven storylines towards some of the concerns of Berlin’s precariat: the nature of abstract, emotional and unpaid labor. The Semi-Show is a trash TV absurdist talk show revolving around the notion of “semi-”. A playful expression of feminism, reflecting on contemporary power-structures, affective hierarchies and naked politics: semi-sexual, semi-local, semi-interactive, semi-expertise. Half-way interrupted formats follow one another. The show moves through virtual imagery inviting the audience to follow masterclasses, absurd games and the band’s performance compressed into a one minute span. (more…)

Mariola Brillowska and Bela Brillowska are showing a selection of their surrealistic-comic films, which are independently commissioned. The world of the professor and mother Mariola, who has been experimenting with film media for over 30 years, meets that of the very young, 16-year-old student and daughter Bela, who already won awards for her debut film “Artist Talk” 4 years ago. Harun Farocki’s film Hard Selling was scheduled to be shown on East German TV one month before its dissolution at the end of 1991. It was, however, never shown and never completed. In the film, Farocki looks at a West German adidas salesman as he looks at the East through car and shop windows. In her re-framing, Rosenfeld looks back at both from an East perspective, some 30 years on. Responding to the film stills, fragments of conversations and announcement texts of Farocki’s film, she mobilizes the figure of the “window” as a frame to submit the conversations and gazes at shop windows, screens and trainers to a poetic-analytical editing.  (more…)

Keiken is a collaborative practice, co-founded by artists Tanya Cruz, Hana Omori and Isabel Ramos in 2015, who frequently work with multiple collaborators. Based between London and Berlin, they come from mixed diasporic backgrounds (Mexican/Japanese/European/Jewish). They are building a collective shared space of virtual worlds, a Metaverse. (more…)
